The mechanics
Gate 32 is in the Spleen, in the Ego circuit, and it is the Spleen end of 32-54, Transformation, the design of being driven. Its awareness is the instinct to adapt in the now without losing continuity, and its fear is the fear of failure. Ra said every line of this gate deals with that fear at some level, and that this is the brake on the drive of the 54.
Ra tied it to the nose. People with the 32 can smell failure coming, because the gate remembers what did not work, where the 54 only remembers winning. He was careful about the word conservative. The 32 is conservative about what it will change to, never about whether to change, and radical conservatism leads to annihilation: the people still making teletype machines after the fax arrived.

The Sun completes 32-54 for you.
If you have Gate 54 defined in your Root, the Sun completes the 32-54 channel for you until Monday. What to watch, not what to do
Ra's heading above the lines: the only thing which endures is change. The Definitive Book calls this the gate of prolonged indecision, the agonizing between what works and the unknown risk of transformation. Its gift is recognizing who has the talent to move up and bringing them to the attention of authority. Whether you back a change this week is for Strategy and Authority, and for the Spleen that is a single, quiet moment.
The uncomfortable part
Ra's sixth line carries the shadow of this gate at full strength: impermanence read as proof of meaninglessness, with depression and delusion behind it. This week the field is full of people holding on to what used to work.
