Growth

42. Increase – The Gate of Growth

The Power To Share The Process Of Growth With Others.

Gate 42, known as Increase and the Gate of Growth, is a generative hub located in the Sacral Center within the Collective Abstract (Sensing) Circuit. Its core function is growth through completion, providing the mechanical pressure to finish experiential cycles so that maturation and reflection can occur. It is one of the most powerful forces in the BodyGraph because it functions as a Format Gate, setting the “cyclic” frequency for the entire Abstract circuit.

The 42nd gate is about the collective process and the energy to share experiences for growth. It represents the power to commit to and complete life experiences, energizing us to move through them. This hexagram is key to the process of maturation, where resources expand to help us reach our full potential. Though this journey involves crisis, change, and emotional ups and downs, it’s central to human evolution and learning from experience.

Mechanical Function

The mechanical purpose of Gate 42 is to extract growth from experiences that have already been entered. Unlike its harmonic partner, Gate 53, which provides the fuel to begin, Gate 42 provides the tenacity to stay with a cycle until it reaches its natural conclusion.

  • The Commitment: Once a cycle is entered through a correct Sacral response, the commitment becomes mechanically binding. Premature withdrawal or abandonment of the process interrupts maturation and prevents the individual from accessing the wisdom available at the end of the cycle.
  •
  • The Cyclic Frequency: Gate 42 dictates that life processes unfold in three distinct phases: beginning, middle, and completion. This is not a logical or step-by-step process, but an experiential one where the full meaning is only revealed through hindsight once the “door is closed”.
  •
  • Unfinished Cycles: If a cycle is not completed, its themes will carry forward and must be revisited in future experiences until they are resolved. This is particularly common in relationships where unresolved patterns from childhood or past cycles repeat until the cycle is brought to its natural end.

  • – Real-world examples that show how these mechanics actually play out in decisions, behavior, and timing
  • – Direct observations from my own long-term deconditioning work
  • – Client case insights that reveal shadow patterns, and alignment markers

It’s applied mechanics—for readers who want to understand how this Gate operates in lived reality.

Gates of the Quarter of Initiation

The Quarter of Initiation is the first quadrant of the Mandala, characterized by the theme of purpose fulfilled through the Mind. Mystically known as “The Witness Returns,” this quarter represents the Personality crystal returning to the physical plane to bring renewal to the evolution of consciousness. The primary mechanical functions within this quadrant involve thinking, educating, conceptualizing, and explaining what it means to be alive in form.

This quarter is designed to facilitate the fine-tuning of the mind so that it may eventually surrender its decision-making authority to the directives of the body. It contains nearly all the gates of the Solar Plexus Center, which governs relational intelligence and emerging spirit awareness. Furthermore, the Channel of Initiation (25–51) is located here, providing the mechanical force required to disrupt stagnation and catalyze spiritual transformation.

A Life Work situated in this quarter suggests that your unique contribution is rooted in mental processing and the sharing of insights. This role involves translating individual or collective patterns into formulas, ideas, and stories that help humanity understand its own existence.

An example of this operation is seen in Gate 13 (The Listener), which initiates the quarter by witnessing and collecting the secrets and experiences of others. Another example is Gate 11 (Ideas), which provides the conceptual frameworks and beliefs that stimulate the collective mind. Ultimately, the Quarter of Initiation ensures that mutation and discovery are conceptualized and communicated before they move into the physical structures of the Quarter of Civilization.

Gate 40 is about willpower and rest. It supports the tribe by delivering when asked but needs solitude and restoration before committing energy again.
Gate 16 brings energy for skill mastery through deep identification and repetition. It’s about aligning fully with an activity to refine talent and pursue excellence.
Gate 23 translates inner knowing into speech. It expresses unique awareness in language others can understand—or risks rejection if mistimed or misunderstood.
Your energy isn’t random. These 9 Centers reveal how you’re wired — and how to stop living by what isn’t yours.
Gate 31 is the voice of democratic leadership. It transmits vision through clear communication, empowering leaders to guide with influence and clarity.
